UltraData lost two and Symitar gained one in credit union core processing announcements this week.
The Jack Henry & Associates subsidiary announced Tuesday it has signed the $512 million Credit Union West in Glendale, Ariz., as an in-house user of the Episys platform. Callahan & Associates data show the 53,000-member Credit Union West currently is on the Fiserv Spectrum core.
Meanwhile, a pair of Montana credit unions – the $35 million Ravalli County Federal Credit Union in Hamilton and the $7.5 million Bitterroot Community Federal Credit Union in Darby – plan to convert in May to the CU*BASE GOLD platform through CU*NorthWest in Liberty Lake, Wash., that CUSO announced on Monday.
Callahan data show both those credit unions currently run on UltraData through Member Driven Technologies, a Detroit-based CUSO. The Montana credit unions were clients of CUsource, a Montana CUSO acquired last fall by MDT, which operates data centers that run the Symitar Episys plaftform. The credit unions in that CUSO have a choice to move to Symitar Episys or go elsewhere, said MDT President/CEO Larry Nichols.
CU*NorthWest is part of the cuasterisk network that offer core processing technology from CU*Answers in Grand Rapids, Mich., and said the signings are its first in Montana.
Symitar's platforms are currently in use at more than 750 credit unions, according to Missouri-based Jack Henry. Fiserv's Spectrum is now in use at more than 240 credit unions, that company said. Callahan data shows UltraData is in use at 310.
CU*Answers said it now provides core processing to just more than 170 credit unions directly and that network partners CU*South now has 29 credit union clients and CU*NorthWest has 25.
