Malauzai Software said Monday it nearly doubled its client list in 2013.

The Austin, Texas-based developer also said its banking apps were in use by more than 207,000 registered users at credit unions and banks.

Malauzai said it began the year with 106 clients and ended with 200; 70% of them are live. Approximately 40 to 50 of those are credit unions, the company said.

The company, founded in 2009, cited adoption of new products, including its mobile photo bill pay solution, and the fact that 35% of its new customers are replacing existing mobile apps, for its growth in the past year.

The company worked with Allied Payment Network and Mitek on the mobile photo bill pay solution (launched first by 3Rivers Credit Union in Indiana), which it said saw a 17% month-over-month increase in end users since its launch in January 2013.

A new mobile banking app for iPads also contributed to the growth, the company said, with usage as high as 15% of the total active end-users at several banks and credit unions.
