Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) did not report a 2013 campaign donation from CULAC, CUNA's PAC, to the Federal Election Commission. The funds were intended for his 2014 congressional re-election campaign and were among others that weren't properly reported to the FEC.

CUNA donated $1,000 to Stockman's campaign on July 29, 2013.

“As far as I know those checks were never received by the treasurer and deposited,” said Donny Ferguson, Stockman's communications director, according to the Sunlight Foundation, an organization that promotes congressional transparency.

A spokesperson for CUNA told Credit Union Times the check cleared on Aug. 7, 2013, according to the trade association's records.

National Auto Dealers Association PAC, College of American Pathologists PAC and Citizens United Political Victory Fund PAC also made donations that were not reported by Stockman's campaign, the Sunlight Foundation said.

Last month, Stockman, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, entered into a Senate primary race against Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).

A NAFCU spokesperson told Credit Union Times its PAC did not donate any funds to Stockman's House or Senate campaigns.

CUNA said it is supporting Cornyn in the Texas Senate primary race.
