The $4.5 billion Delta Community Credit Union awarded two $500 savings account certificates to babies born in the New Year at two metro Atlanta Piedmont hospitals. The Atlanta-based credit union will award three more certificates to the first babies of the year born at three other Piedmont Atlanta hospitals.
“The New Year is a time of renewal, excitement and optimism,” said CEO Hank Halter. “Piedmont is well-known for providing quality healthcare to individuals and families in the Atlanta area. Like Piedmont, Delta Community is a caring organization committed to bringing greater value to the members we serve. It's our privilege to partner with such an outstanding organization and extend a financial head-start to the children awarded these donations.”
The certificates can be redeemed at a Delta Community branch to open a savings account in the child's name in the amount of $500.
“We appreciate the support of Delta Community Credit Union through its donation to these five first babies born at our hospitals,” said Kathy King, senior director of women and infant services at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. “Delta Community's giveaway will allow these families to begin saving for their children's financial futures.”
