The National Institute of State Credit Union Examination, the educational foundation of NASCUS, has elected Jeff Dahlstrom, co-president and CEO of $464 million Southeast Financial Credit Union in Franklin, Tenn., to serve as its chairman.
"Jeff is a respected longtime member of NASCUS, and we are grateful for his commitment," said Mary Martha Fortney, NASCUS president/CEO. "Under his leadership, we look forward to continuing to provide superior quality training and education to state credit union examiners and state credit union managers and staff."
NISCUE sponsors professional training programs specifically designed by and for state credit union department examiners and senior staff. This training is offered regionally and addresses different needs between states. NASCUS credit union members contribute funds to NISCUE to underwrite the cost of examiner training.
In addition to Dahlstrom, who succeeds John Kolhoff from the Michigan Office of Credit Unions as chair, and Fortney, NISCUE trustees include Secretary/Treasurer Chris Mykelbust, Colorado Division of Financial Services; Tom Candon, Vermont Department of Financial Regulation; Kim Santos, Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions; John "JD" Fields, Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions; and Patty Idol, $82 million Mountain Credit Union, Waynesville, N.C.
