Bill Before has added chief lending officer to his title as chief financial officer at the $1.8 billion Spokane Teachers Credit Union in Liberty Lake, Wash.

Scott Adkins, former STCU vice president of lending, recently became president/CEO of the $954 million School Employees Credit Union of Washington in Seattle.

In addition to overseeing accounting and compliance at the 118,300-member STCU, Before now will be responsible for consumer, commercial and real estate lending as STCU continues its growth as one of the largest mortgage and home equity lenders in eastern Washington and northern Idaho, the Spokane credit union said in an announcement this week.

“During Bill's nearly 25 years with STCU he has led our finance function with skill and insight. He is uniformly appreciated and respected for his knowledge and his ability to work with others,” said STCU President/CEO Tom Johnson.

Before has an MBA from Gonzaga University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Montana. He is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School and is one of two

Northwest representatives on the board for Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union, STCU said.
