The NCUA announced it is hosting a free two-part webinar, "New Dodd-Frank Remittances and Mortgage Lending Rules," on Monday, Nov. 18 and Wednesday, Dec. 18, both starting at 2 p.m.

"Staff from NCUA's Office of Consumer Protection will provide a high-level overview of the new rules in each part of the webinar. Credit unions should plan to attend both parts, as different material will be covered in each," said the NCUA release on Thursday.

Remittance transfers, higher-priced mortgage loan appraisals, mortgage servicing and higher-priced mortgage loan escrows will be covered on Nov. 18, the NCUA said.

High-cost mortgage and home ownership counseling, loan originator compensation, Equal Credit Opportunity Act appraisals and valuations as well as the ability-to-repay and qualified mortgage rules in Dodd-Frank will be discussed on Dec. 18.

Registration is open for both sessions. Participants are encouraged to e-mail questions prior to the sessions at [email protected] with the subject line, "Remittances and Mortgage Lending Rules Webinar."
