Robert Ramirez, CEO of the $1.2 billion Vantage West Credit Union in Tucson, Ariz., has been elected board chair for 2013-2014 by CUES, the organization announced Monday.

Also elected at this week's CEO/Executive Team Network event in San Diego were vice chairman/chairman-elect Caroline Willard, executive vice president at CO-OP Financial Services in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; treasurer Joseph Hearn, president/CEO of the $1.1 billion Dupaco Community CU in Dubuque, Iowa; and secretary Chris McDonald, president/CEO of the $2.6 billion Northwest FCU in Herndon, Va. 

Teresa Freeborn, president/CEO of Xceed Financial CU in El Segundo, Calif., is immediate past chairman and the new board also includes past chairman Lary McCants, president/CEO of IBM Southeast Employees' FCU in Boca Raton, Fla.; past chairman Dale Schumacher, president/CEO of Tampa Bay FCU in Tampa, Fla.; Kim Sponem, president/CEO of Summit Credit Union in Madison, Wis.; and Stephanie Sherrodd, president/CEO of Texas Dow Employees CU in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Madison, Wis.-based CUES is an independent, not-for-profit membership association focused on educating and developing credit union leaders.
