The first live use of the new CUFX standards has been declared a success at the $1.8 million Baxter Credit Union in Vernon Hills, Ill.
The project was an integration of the MoneyDesktop personal financial management software with the Symitar Episys core processing platform. Symitar is among the vendors that have been involved with the CUFX project from its launch by CU Technology Council members.
Jeff Johnson, senior vice president and chief information officer at BCU said in Symitar's announcement on Friday, "We're running live in our CUFX environment with no issues. Symitar has really been out in front of the charge. They've participated in every working group we've held."
The CUFX standards are vendor agnostic tools for integration of third-party applications to core processing systems.
Symitar said the project has now advanced to CUFX 2.0, which it said improves CUFX connectivity for online membership application software and more detailed guidance in the area of security.
"It is expected that CUFX 3.0 will add mobile connectivity," Friday's announcement said.
"Our support of CUFX is an extension of our longstanding commitment to make it as easy as possible for our clients to integrate Episys with the third-party products that best support their business strategies and technology requirements," said Ted Bilke, president of Symitar, a Jack Henry & Associates subsidiary with more than 750 credit union clients.
