Various House hearings scheduled Thursday were postponed by members in recognition of the passing of one of their own.

Rep. C.W. “Bill” Young (R-Fla.) died Friday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., at age 82. His funeral was scheduled Thursday in Largo, Fla.

The financial institutions and consumer credit subcommittee meeting of the House Financial Services Committee to discuss legislative proposals to reform the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau originally set for Thursday has been rescheduled to 10 a.m. on Oct. 29.

The Financial Services Committee also had added a hearing on Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. to discuss a taxpayer-funded bailout of the Federal Housing Administration.

The House Small Business Committee meeting to discuss regulatory burden and small business entities, scheduled for Thursday, also has been postponed, with no new date yet announced.

Thursday's House Financial Services Committee hearing on capital markets and the reduction of impediments to capital formation was still set for 2 p.m. as planned.
