To allow its business members to accept payments anytime and anywhere, America First Credit Union has introduced The Dot, a mobile credit card payment device.

According to the $5.9 billion credit union in Riverdale, Utah, the small card reader uses an app to connect with an iPhone, iPad or Android device and accept credit card payments.

America First's The Dot can also be used to accept payments for phone and email orders, the credit union said, adding that any off-site merchant can safely process customer payments and immediately email receipts to their customers upon purchase.

"We're thrilled to bring this cost-effective mobile payment technology to our business members who run their operations outside a brick-and-mortar store, or those who are looking for unique solutions to provide faster customer service in a retail operation," said John Lund, president/CEO of America First.

The Dot is powered by iTransact, a local payment acceptance company in Farmington, Utah, Lund noted. In 2004, America First said it joined with iTransact to offer Visa, Mastercard, and Discover card processing for its business members.
