The New Jersey Credit Union League and CULAC are supporting Newark mayor Cory Booker (D-N.J.) for U.S. Senate in New Jersey, CUNA said during a conference call on Monday.
"Cory Booker's been a strong credit union supporter at the state level," said Trey Hawkins, CUNA vice president of political affairs.
Booker is running against Republican Steve Lonegan, former Bogota mayor, in a special election Wednesday, Oct. 16, to replace the late Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg.
