Credit Union House announced on Monday that it is on track to exceed last year's number of visitors with more than 2,500 individuals welcomed so far this year.

“We're also on track to exceed the number of VIP visitors from the last five years,” Sue McCue, director of Credit Union House, said during a CUNA conference call on Monday.

House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky have all attended events at Credit Union House this year alone.

In total, 75 Members of Congress from 22 different states have visited Credit Union House for events in 2013, according to McCue.

CUNA said the Credit Union House's convenient Capitol Hill location has made it easier for members of Congress to appear at events in between their votes.

“We have an established, permanent identity and entity on Capitol Hill. We're not renting a space. We are there fulltime, today, tomorrow and into the future and every organization can't say that. Credit unions can,” John Magill, executive vice president of government affairs and special assistant to the president at CUNA, said on the conference call.
