The $272 million First New York Federal Credit Union has promoted Mark Jarocki to the position of executive vice president/chief financial officer.

Jarocki had been senior vice president/CFO at First New York for the past six years and has more than 25 years of financial experience, the Albany credit union said in its announcement.

In September, the credit union named its senior vice president and chief operating officer, Lucy Halstead, to succeed retiring President/CEO Rachele Granka at the 28,900-member First New York.

Jarocki will continue to manage and drive the financial strategy of the credit union as well as supervise its operations, accounting, lending, compliance and purchasing departments, his employer said in a statement.

First New York FCU was founded in 1937 as Schenectady Teachers Federal Credit Union, and said it now has seven full-service branches as well as five in-school branch offices, run by student volunteers at Duanesburg, Albany, Schenectady, Mohonasen, and Schoharie high schools.
