Sept. 11 was United Way Day of Caring for a team of seven staffers from the $399 million Diamond Credit Union in Pottstown, Pa. They showed up at Riverside Elementary School and commenced to pull weeds, plant flowers and raking up the grassy areas around the Reading, Pa., school.
“We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to help out in the community. It's so rewarding to hear the kids say 'thank you' and I know that this is an experience they will remember when they are older, and hopefully they'll want to be volunteers too,” said Monica McCoach, human resources associate at the 45,400-member credit union.
