Veteran credit union manager Ralph Ruiz has been named president/CEO of the $138 million ILWU Credit Union in Wilmington, Calif.
Ruiz has more than 23 years of financial services experience, including more than 15 at the senior executive level, his new employer said. He most recently was chief operating officer at the $366 million SkyOne FCU in Hawthorne, Calif., where he was credited with transforming the member investment services program and leading the former FAA First FCU through two mergers.
The Loyola Marymount University graduate also had been vice president of marketing and technology at SkyOne when it was FAA First FCU, ILWU CU said.
The 15,300-member ILWU CU has two branches and has been serving longshoremen and their families for more than 50 years, the credit union said.
Ruiz succeeds the retired John Coleman in the position.
