The $825 million St. Anne's Credit Union in Fall River, Mass., recently participated in the annual "Get Steppin' for Steppingstone Walk" and raised nearly $400 for the Steppingstone emergency shelter and homeless program there.
The agency has served southeastern Massachusetts since 1972 and said the demand, driven by unemployment and high housing costs, has contributed to an overflow of homeless guests at its shelter.
