Breastfeeding in Combat Boots

Breast feeding military mothers were recognized in a program helped along by Belvoir FCU.

The $317 million Belvoir Federal Credit Union recently helped sponsor the first annual breastfeeding recognition ceremony with the La Leche League at Fort Belvoir. The 25,900-member Woodbridge, Va., credit union contributed a $100 gift card and six cases of water to the effort, which recognized more than a dozen mothers who exceeded their goal of exclusive breastfeeding for six months in a program sponsored at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

The ceremony also included presentation of a coin of recognition to each of the mothers by special guest Robyn Roche-Paull, author of "Breastfeeding in Combat Boots."
