The $27 billion State Employees’ Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C., helped the Tar Heel state receive top honors at this year’s National Youth Involvement Board Conference held in San Diego, Calif.

North Carolina earned its third consecutive award for the “Highest Number of Students Reached through Youth Presentations,” with a total of 56,308 students.

Team SECU walked away with two NYIB team awards, taking top honors for the highest number of students reached by a team with 55,662 and the highest number of presentations conducted by a team with 815- for the second consecutive year, SECU said in a release.

“NYIB is an organization that focuses on making a difference in today’s youth,” said Julie McLean, NYIB chairman and director of financial education with the $97 million Arapahoe Credit Union in Centennial, Colo. “We are proud of our long-lasting partnership with SECU and commend their dedication to North Carolina communities by providing financial education, changing lives one student at a time.”
