The $3.5 billion Redstone Federal Credit Union in Huntsville, Ala., has promoted Terri Bentley to vice president of technology.

Bentley joined the RFCU as assistant vice president in 1999 and is credited with a series of technology advances at the 363,000-member credit union, including a core processing conversion, mobile banking launch and a software development department that has taken the lead in producing its own solutions and marketing some of them to other credit unions.

Research consultancy Celent named RFCU a Model Bank in 2012.

“During her tenure, we have been able to take our technology department from a cost center to a revenue generating area. We are changing the industry within which we work, by building solutions for Redstone and then selling them to others. It is for these reasons we are excited to promote her to this new role,” Harry Gunsallus, the big Tennessee Valley credit union's executive vice president and chief information officer, said in the credit union's announcement.

Bentley said, “As agents of change we will lead the credit union community with technological innovation, excellence in member service, superiority in financial technology and unsurpassed availability of information resources.”
