The $1.3 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., has named Char Gurney to the new position of vice president of business loans and services.

Gurney had been economic development fund manager for the West Central Regional Planning Commission, where she helped promote economic and business development in a seven-county region in west-central Wisconsin.

At the 148,600-member RCU, she will be responsible for working directly with businesses of the Chippewa Valley to provide financial assistance for growth and profitability, her new employer said.

Gurney has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, RCU said, and she also holds the Economic Development Financial Professional certification from the National Development Council.
