Janice Sheppard, senior vice president of mortgage lending and compliance for the $283 million Southwest Airlines FCU, will testify Thursday before the full House Financial Services Committee on the topic of secondary mortgage market reform. Sheppard, whose Dallas credit union is located in Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling's (R-Texas) district, will represent NAFCU.

The hearing will examine the discussion draft of the Protecting American Taxpayers and Homeowners Act of 2013, a yet-to-be introduced bill supported by the GOP that would wind down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac within five years.

According to a release from the committee, witnesses will be asked about their opinions on the draft and the overall need for housing finance reform.
