Employee benefits provider Digital Insurance has partnered with the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association to help credit unions and their employees and members navigate reform under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
“This new partnership will empower our members and their employees to make better health insurance decisions,” said Jim McCormack, president/CEO of the PCUA.
With Digital Benefit Advisors, Pennsylvania's credit unions will have access to a broader variety of carriers and resources, including tools that enable employers to assist human resource departments and better understand health care reform, McCormack explained.
Digital Benefit Advisors, the largest division of the Atlanta-based Digital Insurance, will deliver the services. The subsidiary is a national network of local market experts who deliver expanded offering to businesses and organizations, according to the company. Digital Insurance is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity National Financial.
“Working with the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, we'll help members understand the impact of health care reform and make the necessary adjustments to their employee benefits packages,” said David Martin, managing principal of Digital Insurance's newly formed Credit Union Services Team.
The Pennsylvania league joins other leagues that have formed alliances to help credit unions with PPACA, which is commonly known as Obamacare.
In June, the Iowa and Nebraska Credit Union Leagues announced a partnership with Des Moines, Iowa-based CoOportunity Health, a co-op that plans to offer insurance options through broker Group Benefits Ltd., in Urbandale, Iowa.
Consumers Mutual Insurance of Michigan is also planning to offer health insurance to low- and moderate-income residents and small businesses in need of low cost insurance options.
