The $673 million DATCU Credit Union in Denton, Texas recently opened its 10th branch in the city of Sanger, a northern Dallas suburb.
“We have many of our longtime members who reside in Sanger and the surrounding area and therefore made the decision to open this branch to better serve the community and provide convenience to our members,” said Dale Kimble, DATCU's president/CEO.
While the north Texas credit union has many longtime members, it is gaining a lot of new ones.
DATCU's membership has soared from 65,063 in March 2012 to 71,097 in March 2013, according to Callahan & Associates. However, DATCU reports it now serves 71,980 members. Since March 2008, the credit union has signed up more than 20,000 new members.
DATCU held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week to celebrate the grand opening of the new branch.
