Credit Union Miracle Day has elected Theresa Mann, president/CEO of The Partnership FCU, Arlington, Va., as chairman of the charity group.
CUMD is a nonprofit collaboration of credit union organizations engaged in fundraising activities to benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and is the largest national credit union fundraising event for Credit Unions for Kids.
"I am proud and honored to serve as chairman of this successful, collaborative program," said Mann. "The team really pulls together and works tirelessly for the kids," she added. Mann served as CUMD's vice chairman and chairman of the CUMD marketing committee for many years. She is also one of the founding members of CUMD.

Immediate past Chairman Juri Valdov, was lauded by the Board for his 12 years of outstanding volunteer leadership to the organization. Valdov, retired president/CEO of Northwest FCU, will continue to serve on the board.
"Juri has volunteered countless hours to guide this organization to its nationally recognized status," said Mann. "He always kept the mission in focus–to help kids in need. We are forever grateful for his keen vision and fine execution of our goals over the years," she added.
"It has been a privilege to be associated with such a dedicated group of volunteers," Valdov said. "Together we made a big difference in the lives of the most vulnerable among us – our children – while highlighting the credit union difference. They said it couldn't be done, but in those 12 years, we exceeded all expectations."
Under Valdov's leadership, CUMD has donated over $6 million for CMN Hospitals across the country since 2002. Valdov accepted one of the top awards in the credit union industry, the Herb Wegner Memorial Award for Outstanding Program, from the National Credit Union Foundation on behalf of CUMD in February 2014. CUMD also won the national Dora Maxwell Award for Outstanding Social Responsibility Program for a Credit Union Group in 2009.
