The Tacoma, Wash.-based grant writing firm CU Strategic Planning has named Northwest Credit Union Association Senior Vice President and General Counsel Stacy Augustine to the position of president.
Augustine, who once managed CUSP founder Jamie Chase when the two worked at the Washington Credit Union League, will oversee daily operations, implement new products and pursue new prospects. Additionally, Augustine will add CEO to her title in 2014, CUSP said.
“Ask anyone, I'm a hard-to-manage visionary,” Chase said in a release. “(Augustine is) strategic, tactical and manages people to gets things done. Just like I've experienced over the years, our staff, clients and company will be empowered to grow as a direct result of Stacy's great leadership. She knows our operations inside and out, and our credit unions already love her.”
Augustine managed the NWCUA's government relations, compliance, communications, public relations, and strategic planning functions for nearly 20 years. Her career in credit unions began with the $947 million Unitus Community Credit Union, headquartered in Portland, Ore. Augustine's father, Tom, served as the president/CEO of the Oregon Credit Union League for 20 years.
“CU Strategic Planning has undergone tremendous growth over the past five years as it has developed depth and expertise in several core areas,” Augustine said. “Going forward we'll make sure that we can sustain growth while retaining our rock-star team of achievers.”
Augustine received her bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University and her law degree from the University of Notre Dame.
