APG Federal Credit Union, Aberdeen, Md., announced the promotion of Susan R. Stover to assistant vice president, loan centers/sales, a new position in the credit union. Stover will oversee APGFCU's two new Cecil County loan centers. She will manage a staff of seven and report to the senior vice president, consumer lending. The loan centers, called My Loan Center, will offer 24/7 ATMs and serve consumers in Cecil and Harford counties. Available loans include mortgages, home equity loans and lines of credit, vehicle loans, credit cards, personal loans, and other consumer loans. Stover joined APGFCU in 2000 as a branch manager and was promoted to vice president, lending support. In 2003, she transitioned to director of sales where she created the credit union's service and sales culture and pioneered its outbound lending program. Stover brings over 22 years of experience in the financial services industry to her new role. She earned several business certifications from Harford Community College.

MIDWEST

Educational Community Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich., announced the recent promotion of Michele Boven to compliance supervisor. Boven's continuing responsibilities include evaluating ECCU's policies, programs and procedures to ensure compliance with all related laws and regulations applicable to the credit union. Boven has 37 years of experience in the financial services industry, including her compliance leadership at the credit union since 2008. Prior to her employment with ECCU, she served as compliance officer at First Community Federal Credit Union in Parchment. Her previous experience also includes serving as a customer relations manager, client support analyst and compliance officer for National City Bank in Kalamazoo. She is also certified as a credit union compliance expert, and has a bachelor's degree in management and organizational development from Spring Arbor University. The credit union also announced the addition of ­Jennifer Kovick as IT project manager. Kovick's new responsibilities consist of planning, organizing and integrating information technology projects, including managing the project lifecycle. She has 14 years of combined credit union and project management experience, most recently having served as training and compliance manager at Kellogg Community FCU in Battle Creek. Her previous credit union experience also includes serving as a training coordinator, project specialist, and branch manager of Kellogg Community FCU. Kovick comes to ECCU with a bachelor of business administration degree from Baker College as well as several industry specific certificates from CUNA's STAR Program and Harland Clarke's Credit Union University. 

United Federal Credit Union, St. Joseph, Mich., said Larry A. Rice has been appointed director of technology solutions. Rice will implement technology and infrastructure components required to fulfill UFCU's strategic technology vision. Rice was previously director of technology/information security officer at Lakeland Regional Healthcare System, a not-for-profit, community-owned medical care system serving southwestern Michigan. There, he was responsible for daily operations, infrastructure and support functions provided by the IT, Telecommunications, Digital Imaging, and Switchboard departments. Rice's background includes information technology leadership positions with Press Ganey Associates, McKesson Provider Technologies, and NIBCO in the South Bend/Elkhart area. Rice earned a bachelor of science degree in management information systems from Goshen College, and an associate of science degree in Computer Science from Indiana University South Bend. United FCU also announced the appointment of Lou Ann Schafer as director of advertising and public relations. In her new role, Schafer will lead marketing communication strategies in support of United Federal Credit Union's long-range strategic objectives. Schafer earned an MBA from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor degree from Bowling Green State University.

SOUTH

Charlotte Metro Credit Union, Charlotte, N.C., announced two promotions. Melissa Clark is now the manager of the University branch, and Andrea Jordan was promoted to manager of the Ashley Road branch. Jordan was promoted to assistant branch manager of the Central Avenue branch last November. Jordan has been with CMCU since 2005 and previously served as member service advisor at the Matthews branch. When she moved to Charlotte eight years ago, she became a credit union member and employee in the call center. Clark began her career at CMCU in 2005 as ATM specialist. From there, she was promoted to account manager in 2007, teller supervisor in 2008 and manager of the Ashley Road branch in 2011. Prior to joining CMCU, Clark was a small business owner in Florida.

CSE Federal Credit Union, Lake Charles, La., congratulated Peggy Wright, Jim Swift and Tammy Powers on their new positions. Wright has been named CSE's mortgage lending manger. She has with 28 years of experience in the financial industry and is a certified notary/loan review analyst. Jim Swift joins CSE from Jeff Davis Bank as member business lending officer. He has 40 years of experience, 20 of which has been in commercial banking. Powers, also a certified notary, and CSE's new member business lending assistant.

121 Financial Credit Union, Jacksonville, Fla., announced that Larry Rouse, manager of information systems, has been promoted to director of information systems. Rouse will be responsible for all aspects of information technology and cyber security.
