The $253 million, 14,700-member Sussex County Federal Credit Union in Seaford, Del., is a co-recipient of the Best Example of a Community or Business Partnership Award from the alliance of Model Schools. Sussex County FCU, along with DE New Tech Academy, were cited by the state’s Alliance of Model Schools for their two-year partnership in providing students financial education through project-based lessons plans the students then turned into real-life educational resources designed to educate fellow students and their families on the importance of savings. The Alliance of Model Schools is supported by grants and donations, as well as board representation, from financial institutions headquartered in Delaware. APG Federal Credit Union, Aberdeen, Md., announced the promotion of Susan R. Stover to assistant vice president, loan centers/sales, a new position in the credit union. Stover will oversee APGFCU’s two new Cecil County loan centers. She will manage a staff of seven and report to the senior vice president, consumer lending. The loan centers, called My Loan Center, will offer 24/7 ATMs and serve consumers in Cecil and Harford counties. Available loans include mortgages, home equity loans and lines of credit, vehicle loans, credit cards, personal loans, and other consumer loans. Stover joined APGFCU in 2000 as a branch manager and was promoted to vice president, lending support. In 2003, she transitioned to director of sales where she created the credit union’s service and sales culture and pioneered its outbound lending program. Stover brings over 22 years of experience in the financial services industry to her new role. She earned several business certifications from Harford Community College.
