The $2 billion, 353,200-memberr Municipal Credit Union in New York has awarded $66,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors. The awards came in the form of eight memorial scholarship grants of $5,000 each and 13 grants of $2,000 each. The scholarships were presented to the recipients by MCU President/CEO Kam Wong at a special presentation reception at MCU's headquarters on May 30th.

“MCU is deeply committed to both giving back to our community and to investing in our young people and their education,” said MCU President/CEO Kam Wong. “Our scholarship program is one way we are achieving these objectives and also recognizing and rewarding the outstanding academic efforts of these youth of our community.”

The scholarships are available to MCU members in good standing or their children or grandchildren and winners were chosen based on academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, letters of recommendation, and an essay expressing personal goals.
