Maine Sen. Seth Goodall (D-Richmond), considered an advocate for credit unions, was recently appointed regional administrator of the SBA's New England district office.
According to the Maine Credit Union League, in his new role, Goodall will preside over SBA state offices and programs in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. SBA Administrator Karen Mills made the appointment.
Goodall is scheduled to resign from his Senate post when the current legislative session adjourns later this month, the league said. Appointed the Senate Majority Leader, he is currently serving a third term. According to local media reports, Assistant Senate Majority Leader Troy Jackson (D-Allagash) said he will seek to succeed Goodall as the majority leader.
