The $1.7 billion UW Credit Union in Madison, Wis., has gone live with a mobile remote check deposit service.

As with its other mobile banking offerings, the mobile RDC solution was created by the credit union's own IT staff.

"We are using Ensenta (Mitek-powered) to provide the image processing functionality and risk/fraud detection for mobile deposit, but the member experience was all developed in-house," said Denise Danczyk, communications coordinator at the 177,400-member UWCU.

Mobile RDC lets members make deposits into their checking or savings accounts by taking photos of checks using a mobile device.

"We're committed to giving members access to the latest technology to make banking as convenient and accessible as possible," said Eric Bangerter, vice president of e-commerce and Internet services at UW Credit Union.

UW Credit Union said it now has 432 employees, 22 branch locations and more than 100 ATMs in the University of Wisconsin communities it serves in the Madison, Milwaukee, Stevens Point, Green Bay, Oshkosh and Whitewater areas.
