The $402 million, 48,000-member Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union in Fayetteville, N.C., recently presented a $3,000 to the Support Military Spouses program, which collects and distributes shoebox gifts to military spouses.
About 1,200 of the gifts were delivered, along with the donation, at a special event at a local theater in recognition of Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Fort Bragg is home to the U.S. Army's Special Operations Command and the 82nd Airborne Division.
“The idea of building shoeboxes to give to the unsung heroes of the military is a great idea. To be able to provide a spouse a moment of happiness through a gift acknowledging their sacrifices means so much,” said David Elliott, Fort Bragg FCU President/CEO.
