For members who want to apply a car loan or sign up for mobile banking, Alamo Federal Credit Union wants to make it easier to meet them wherever it's most convenient.
The $44 million credit union in San Antonio said it has launched its Concierge Banking program.
A personal concierge will meet members at their office, home or another convenient place to help open accounts, take and complete loan applications, assist with switching from their current bank or set up automatic bill pay or mobile services. The concierge will not carry cash, according to the credit union.
Alamo FCU said concierge banking is available to all prospective and current members.
"This is something that the busy professionals of San Antonio have been wanting for a long time," said AFCU President/CEO Max Villaronga. "A way to make their lives easier without spending hours in a bank waiting on someone. With Alamo FCU, you don't wait on us, we wait on you."
Villaronga said concierge banking is the first of its kind in San Antonio.
"This type of revolutionary financial experience is the newest innovation from Alamo FCU and something that other banking institutions will not provide," Villaronga said.
"Most banks have invested heavily in expensive headquarters and facilities with their customer's money. Alamo FCU is investing in superior service and dividends for really busy people," he added.
Alamo FCU serves more than 6,900 members.
Last year, the $759 million Texas Trust Credit Union in Mansfield, Texas, launched a similar service to help make the process of switching from other financial institutions to the cooperative easier.
