The Illinois Credit Union League re-elected four incumbent board members at its 83rd annual convention held earlier this month.

Geraldine Burek, president/CEO of the $54 million South Division Credit Union in Evergreen Park, was re-elected as chair and to a three-year term on the league's board as the Class B director for District 2.

Pete Paulson, president/CEO of the $586 million Corporate America Family Credit Union in Elgin, was re-elected vice chair to a three-year term as the Class D director for District 3.

Peggy Cummins, president/CEO, of the $13 million Three Rivers Community Credit Union in Mt. Carmel was re-elected as secretary/treasurer to a three-year term as the Class A director for District 1.

Two other directors re-elected to new three-year terms included Sean Rathjen, president/CEO of the $604 million Consumers Cooperative Credit Union in Waukegan, serving as the Class C director in District 3, and Dennis Schaefer, president/CEO of the $272 million SIU Credit Union in Carbondale, as the Class D director in District 1.

The full ICUL board of directors is:

  • District 1 Class A – Peggy Cummins; Class B – Kerry Fearn, president/CEO of the $23 million Area Educational Credit Union in Mattoon; Class C – Alan Meyer, executive vice president/COO of the $505 million 1st MidAmerica Credit Union in Bethalto; and Class D – Dennis Schaefer.
  • District 2 Class A – Janet Francoeur, president/CEO of the $27 million Riverside Community Credit Union in Kankakee; Class B – Geraldine Burek; Class C – Tim O'Donnell, executive vice president of the $222 million Financial Plus Credit Union in Ottawa; and Class D – Carl Sorgatz of the $527 million Great Lakes Credit Union in Naperville.
  • District 3 Class A – Karen Jurasek, president/CEO of the $16 million Generations Credit Union in Rockford; Class B – Patrick Basler, president/CEO of the $65 million First Financial Credit Union in Chicago; Class C – Sean Rathjen; and Class D – Pete Paulson.
