The $512 million, 39,800-member American First Credit Union in La Habra, Calif., has promoted Jon Shigematsu to the position of president/CEO.
Shigematsu, a CPA, had extensive experience in finance, accounting and business management when he joined American First as chief financial officer in 2011, the board said.
"His commitment to our members and the community is extraordinary, and with his background and dedication, he is well-qualified to lead American First as we move into an exciting new era in our rich history," said Board Chairman Danny Doss.

"American First has a long history of exemplary member service," Shigematsu said in the credit union's announcement.
"Our employees are dedicated to our members and provide them the personal attention they deserve. It is exciting for me to partner with such wonderful employees to make American First better for our members and community," he said.
Shigematsu succeeds Pamella Easley. She had been American First's CEO for about three years and is now with RSM McGladrey in Los Angeles, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Shigematsu is the third CEO at American First in the past three years. Bob Street retired in 2010 after 20 years of service there.
AFCU was founded in 1952 and is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Orange County or 16 surrounding cities.
