To help startup and existing small businesses throughout North Central Massachusetts, IC Federal Credit Union has pledged $10,000 to make it happen.

The $465 million financial institution in Fitchburg, Mass., said it has committed to making the pledge over a two-year period to the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp., a entity that promotes and assists the growth and development of small businesses in 26 communities in that area.

“Reinvesting in our community is something IC is very proud of, and we are honored to support these essential programs provided by the NCMDC,” said Judy Kaddy, senior vice president of lending and marketing at IC FCU.

David McKeehan, president of NCMDC, who applauded the credit union for its commitment, said the organization has provided local business owners and entrepreneurs with access to a variety of non-traditional business loan programs for more than 20 years.

“With the help from friends like [IC FCU], we will make a difference for more startup and existing small business owners, women and minority owned business owners right here in North Central Massachusetts,” said Donna Comeau, lending specialist for NCMDC.
