Credit Union League of Connecticut President/CEO Tony Emerson has been named the new president/CEO of the $465 million IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg, Mass.
Emerson succeeds retiring CEO Tony Cali at the 21,000-member Massachusetts credit union. He has been CEO at the CULC since 2008 after previously serving as vice president at Maine Savings FCU in Hampden.
Cali has been at IC FCU since 2008.
Emerson joined the credit union industry in 2001 at Penobscot County FCU after working for a global manufacturer and serving in the U.S. Air Force as a contracting officer, his new employer said.
“After an extensive national search process and many strong potential candidates, the board feels Tony has the skills and leadership capabilities to take IC Federal Credit Union to the next level of growth” Ken Stone, chairman of the IC FCU Board of Directors, said in the credit union's announcement.
“The board, staff and members are all loyal and dedicated to the success of the credit union. I look forward to working with all of them well into the future to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of the credit union,” Emerson said.
In addition to this credit union and league responsibilities, Emerson has consulted on business strategy and strategic management and been published in various publications, including Credit Union Times.
