The $40 million Pioneer Valley Federal Credit Union in Springfield, Mass., will be converting to the Symitar Episys core processing platform through the service bureau operated by Synergent Technology Services in Portland, Maine.

The 6,200-member credit union – which also has offices in Brookdale and Chicopee, Mass. – will also be using Synergent for check collection, draft, ATM and debit processing, as well as Access Softek mobile banking and mobile check capture and Jwaala's online banking platform, Synergent said.

Synergent is a subsidiary of the Maine Credit Union League and said nearly 60 credit unions are now using its service bureau. More than 750 credit unions run on core processing software from Symitar, a subsidiary of Jack Henry & Associates of Monett, Mo.

Pioneer Valley FCU currently uses the Fiserv Spectrum core processing platform and online banking from Online Resources Corp., according to the Technology Survey from Callahan & Associates.
