Kim Santos has been named director of the Office of Credit Unions at the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions.
Santos has been with the OCU for the past 20 years, most recently as deputy director. She succeeds Ginger Larson, who is retiring in June after serving for 17 years at the credit union office, nine of them as the office director.
“Kim will make an outstanding director of the Office of Credit Unions. Her two decades of experience in a variety of roles will serve the office well,” said DFI Secretary Peter Bildsten.
“We appreciate everything Ginger has accomplished in her time with the Office of Credit Unions and wish her nothing but the best in retirement,” Bildsten said in Monday's announcement.
Brett Thompson, president/CEO of the Wisconsin Credit Union League, said Monday, “Ginger Larson was well respected throughout the credit union movement in Wisconsin and will be missed. We wish her well in retirement.
“Kim Santos has worked closely with Wisconsin credit unions for many years and will no doubt continue building strong relationships with credit unions to ensure continued safety and soundness of the 186 member-owned credit unions in our state.”
