John Milazzo plans to retire as CEO of the $488 million Campus Federal Credit Union in Baton Rouge, La., on Jan. 1, the credit union said this week.
His successor will be Dawn Harris. Milazzo is a former NAFCU board chair and both Harris and Milazzo have been with the Louisiana credit union for nearly 30 years.
Harris has served as chief operating officer, executive vice president of retail services and vice president of marketing over the years at Campus Federal.
“Her extensive operational experience, regulatory and industry knowledge, strategic vision, and commitment to Campus Federal over the past 29 years make her an excellent choice for a successful future for the credit union and our members,” said Ken Paxton, chair of the credit union board of directors, said of Harris.
“Mr. Milazzo has provided outstanding leadership to the credit union for 28 years and will be greatly missed,” Paxton added.
Harris said, “As an organization, we are moving into a future with a new set of economic and regulatory challenges, as well as experiencing exciting changes in technology, delivery channels and financial needs on both the consumer and small business front.
“We will continue to be a successful, thriving cooperative financial institution that strives to exceed member expectations at every turn.”
Formed in 1934 by seven employees of Louisiana State University, Campus Federal now serves about 40,600 members and operates seven locations in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport.
