The $5.6 billion First Tech Credit Union in Mountain View, Calif., has rolled out what it says is the first native Windows Phone mobile banking app integrated with mobile check deposit and bill pay.
The 358,000 member First Tech said it developed the app in house and plans to debut it on Tuesday in a gathering at the Redmond, Wash., headquarters of one of the credit union's major SEGs: Microsoft.
The new app joins the Android and Apple apps the credit union launched last August and also includes balances, transaction histories, transfers and branch and fee-free ATM locators.
"We're proud to be the first credit union in the country to offer a native mobile app for smart phones powered by Microsoft," said Greg Mitchell, First Tech president/ CEO, in the credit union's announcement.
"As Microsoft's credit union, it's very important for us to serve our members and demonstrate our support of the Windows 8 mobile platform," Mitchell said.
First Tech's other SEGs include such major technology employers as HP, Agilent, Intel, CISCO, Amazon, Nike, CH2M HILL, Intuit and Google.
