The $13.4 million Coos Educators Federal Credit Union in Coos Bay, Ore., has merged with the $766 million Northwest Community Credit Union in Springfield, Ore.

Coos Educators' sole office began operating as Northwest Community CU on March 16.

Four employees at Coos Educators CU were retrained. Northwest Community began providing management support to Coos Educators in December when its 1,562 members approved the merger.

It's the second merger for Northwest Community in less than a year.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, the $14.8 million Veterans Administration Credit Union in Milwaukee has agreed to merge with the $1.8 billion Summit Credit Union in Madison.

VACU's sole office will continue to operate to serve its 2,809 members and Summit CU's 12,500 Milwaukee-area members, the credit unions said. Summit serves a total of 128,011 members.

The merger is contingent on approval from VACU members and regulators.
