Credit Union Times has learned that longtime credit union advocate Dan Clark, president of Dan Clark Associates in Tallahassee, Fla., has died unexpectedly from complications during surgery at the age of 66.

An accomplished author of many credit union "how-to" articles and books, focusing on board and management governance and strategic planning, Clark was an active CUES member and well- known speaker on the credit union circuit.

A graduate of Rollins College, Clark got his start at the Florida Department of Financial Institutions as an examiner in 1971 and achieved the position of credit union administrator.
