The $360 million Global Credit Union in Spokane, Wash., has joined the list of credit unions with deep military connections offering help in the wake of sequestration.
The 48,000-member Global CU, founded in 1954 by members of Fairchild Air Force Base, is offering penalty-free certificate withdrawals, no-fee extension on existing loans and interest-free loans for up to six months.
“Our roots run deep with our military members. If they do experience furloughs, we want to give them time and assistance to adjust. We've always been here for our members and we are here now to help them through if they need us,” said Global President/CEO Jack Fallis.
Global CU membership is available to all active and retired U.S. military and their families worldwide, and to anyone living or working in Washington state or Kootenai, Benewah, Shoshone or Latah counties in Idaho.
