Bernard McLaughlin has been appointed as the new president/CEO of the $724 million Point Breeze Credit Union in Hunt Valley, Md.

McLaughlin comes to PBCU with more than 30 years of experience that has included executive positions at various credit unions and banks.

Most recently, he served as president/CEO of the $135 million Members First Credit Union in Manchester, N.H., where he led the organization to its strongest capital position ever and boosted member lending to the highest level ever last year, his new employer said.

"Following a very comprehensive search that considered a broad list of highly qualified candidates, we are confident that Bernie is the right choice for the future of Point Breeze Credit Union and our members," said  Michael J. Gallagher, chair of  the Point Breeze board.

"The board is unanimously aligned with the direction Bernie wants to take the credit union and believes his experience and vision will lead us to a new and exciting chapter in the credit union¹s history," McLaughlin said.
