NeighborWorks, a nonprofit group that provides a bevy of services to help revitalize the community in southern New Hampshire, will be able expand its reach thanks to Bellwether Community Credit Union.

The $361 million cooperative in Manchester, N.H., said it recently sub-leased 2,100 square feet of office space at below market rates to NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire.

The reduced cost of the leasing arrangement will save the nonprofit more than $14,000 per year and will help it to expand services into the Greater Nashua area, according to Bellwether.

"The lease of space in this manner demonstrates Bellwether Community Credit Union's continued support of our organization's mission and helps to ensure access to quality programs for New Hampshire residents," said Robert Tourigny, executive director of NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire.

The organization said it is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families by providing access to quality housing services, revitalizing neighborhoods and supporting opportunities for personal empowerment through educational seminars and meetings on home ownership, financial fitness, saving programs, predatory lending, and one-on-one counseling to help people purchase a home.

Bellwether President/CEO Michael L'Ecuyer said NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire has led in the reinvestment and re-invigoration of neighborhoods throughout Greater Manchester over the past 20 years.

"We are proud to support their expansion in Greater Nashua," said L'Ecuyer, adding Bellwether has a long-standing relationship with NeighborWorks.

Claire Castanino, the credit union's executive vice president and chief operating officer, serves on several of the group's committees. Mike Perrella, senior commercial loan officer, is also a director of the group.
