Elevations Credit Union, Boulder, Colo., said that the Colorado Green Building Guild presented the credit union with its pioneer award at the build’s annual meeting. Elevations received this award for its energy loan program which provides home and business owners the ability to make their properties more energy efficient while saving money in the process. The pioneer award honors people or businesses who have demonstrated a commitment to building green and whose actions have made a difference to advance the craft of green building in the local and broader community.  In 2012, Elevations in conjunction with Boulders Energy Smart program and the Denver Energy Challenge launched a suite of low-interest energy efficiency loans available to both businesses and homeowners. Energy loans are used for a wide range of energy efficiency upgrades including insulation, air sealing, heating, cooling, water heating, windows, roofing and solar PV. The program launched in August of 2012 and through yearend it generated $1 million in energy loans.
