The $25 billion, 1.8 million member State Employees' Credit Union will be humming at all 246 branches on Saturday, Feb. 23, for FAFSA Day in North Carolina.
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid forms that high school seniors and their families must complete and submit electronically to be considered for federal and most state financial aid.
SECU staff will be on hand to help complete and file the forms from 9 a.m. to noon on FAFSA Day, There are more than 300 locations operating that day statewide, including many college campuses, and members and non-members alike will be served in counties with FAFSA sites only at SECU branches.
FAFSA Day is sponsored by the College Foundation of North Carolina and the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
“SECU is pleased to continue partnering with CFNC and NCASFAA to help North Carolina seniors and their families take the first step in being considered for college funding,” said Krista Loew, SECU vice president of IRA Services.
“As an educationally focused not-for-profit cooperative, the credit union is committed to investing in the educational future of North Carolina's youth,” Loew said.
Last month, the credit union helped students apply for college during College Application Week.
