A little over a month after Delta Community Credit Union named an interim CEO to step in after president/CEO Rick Foley retired in December, the cooperative has made several promotions on its management team.
Matthew Shepherd has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Shepherd joined Delta Community more than five years ago and most recently served as senior vice president, marketing and member service.
He has 20 years of communications and operations experience and previously worked at NetBank, Georgia Credit Union Affiliates and American Lawyer Media, according to Delta Community.
William Buchanan has been appointed senior vice president, corporate audit. Buchanan has worked at the credit union for a year and was previously vice president, internal audit. He has more than 25 years of experience in risk management and internal/external audit, which includes positions at SecureWorks, S1 Corp., Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Office of Thrift Supervision.
Robert Manning has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel. Manning joined the credit union more than two years ago as vice president and general counsel. He has practiced law for more than 20 years with a focus in financial services for most of his career.
Shepherd and Manning report to Hank Halter, Delta Community's interim president/CEO, and Buchanan reports to the credit union's board of directors.
“Matthew, Bill and Bob have extensive experience and skill in their respective areas of responsibility” Halter said. “They also believe deeply in our mission to serve and create value for our members. I know they will continue to make a positive difference in Delta Community's success.”
Halter, a current board member at Delta Community, took the helm on Jan. 1 while the $4.3 billion cooperative continues its search for a permanent successor.
Founded in 1940, Delta Community now serves nearly 266,000 members.
