The $1.4 billion ORNL Federal Credit Union in Oak Ridge, Tenn., said it plans to open its 33rd branch, this one in Knoxville.
The 157,000-member ORNL FCU said the full-service branch will be built on a site it has agreed to buy at Northshore Town Center.
The announcement continues growth that saw ORNL FCU increase its consumer loan portfolio by 15% in 2012. Over the past 13 years, the credit union has tripled in assets and more than doubled in membership, it said.
“We are very pleased to be making this expansion announcement as it will allow us the opportunity to better serve and bring increased value to our members,” said Chris Johnson, ORNL FCU president/CEO since April 2011.
ORNL FCU is open to membership to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the 16 counties of Central East Tennessee,
